Eureka Efektif Achieves 365 km Long-Distance Dual-Diameter Pipeline Pigging Success

EUREKA EFEKTIF successfully completed a 365 km long-distance pigging operation in a 24”–28” dual-diameter high-pressure gas pipeline, using a pig fully designed, engineered, and manufactured in-house. The pipeline included a 24-inch offshore section transitioning through a wye-piece into a 28-inch onshore section, requiring the pig to adapt to varying diameters while maintaining sealing performance and propulsion throughout the run.

To overcome the challenges of dual-diameter pipeline pigging, EUREKA EFEKTIF developed a custom dual-module pig connected by a universal coupling, equipped with multiple type of discs designed to contract and expand across different pipe sizes. The design was validated through engineering simulations and supported by a specialised launching cassette for offshore deployment.

Launched on 3 January 2026, the pig successfully completed the 365 km run in approximately 56 hours and was retrieved intact, with disc wear within expected limits. The project demonstrates EUREKA EFEKTIF’s capability to deliver reliable long-distance pigging solutions for complex gas pipeline systems.
